Abstract

This paper presents the design, implementation andevaluation of an experience repository in a small softwareorganisation. The experience repository was developedand installed as part of an ongoing software processimprovement effort and uses software process to structureexperience and make it available for reuse. Theexperience repository is accessed through a web-basedprocess guide with experiences related to particular taskslinked directly to the pages describing those tasks. Thisway experiences, including examples of documents,checklists or unstructured experiences such as anecdotesand lessons learnt can be easily entered and retrieved byusers when required. This paper presents the design of therepository, the implementation and preliminary resultsregarding its acceptance and use.
