DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) makes iteasy to access an IP network. However, since the DHCPitself does not have an access control, illegitimate users insideof a network segment can easily abuse inside or outsidenetwork. Therefore, we introduced an authenticationscheme and access control into the DHCP system. Using apopular authentication by MAC (Media Access Control) address,an user can't utilize an IP address except on the MACAddress' machine. In this paper, we propose the user authenticationand access control into the DHCP system anddemonstrate its security.
