Local and Federated Database Schemas Evolution, An Impact Propagation Model

In the framework of Cooperative Information Systems, we suggest a federation process of Information System. In comparison with traditional methods that are limited to database schemas, our method also deals with services (programs) which gravitate around information systems. In this article, we present different forms of service interoperability within a federation: the "service integration" and the "service re-use". This article does not deal with technical aspects but present the different forms of service interoperability with their respective objectives, advantages and disadvantages.
