Abstract

The advances in telemedicine technology have lead to intelligent monitoring systems thatare capable of helping the medical expert in his decision-making process. These systemsimply the introduction of a bedside computer that supervises the patient and collects, storesand visualizes in an accessible way all the information provided by the medical devices.This paper describes the Telemedicine system that is currently being developed by ourresearch team for the intelligent telemonitoring of patients at an Intensive Care Unit (ICU).Concretely, this article focuses on our 3D visualization module, which shows a virtual modelof the patient and allows the clinical staff to visualize in a rapid and clear manner thepatient's evolution.
