Abstract

The California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) is the scene for a very innovative project in the educational field of data processing. Dr. Reed Powell, former Dean of the School of Business Administration at Cal Poly, set in motion a mechanism for combining the needs and interests of small businessmen, the university, students, and the U. S. Small Business Administration. A forum was established through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) sponsored by the Small Business Administration. The focus of the SBDC is to help small businesses through the talent and interests of the faculty and students of the university.
