Abstract

A brief overview of the simulation community is provided including its past, present and future. The systems simulation problem is stated. Certain general strategies, tools, techniques, and methodologies applicable to virtually all systems simulations are described. Emphasis is placed on a set of automated tools, standards, and documentation providing high visibility to the programmer as well as to the manager. The described set of integrated tools and techniques are easily tailored to the particular user application and they have been used to facilitate the development of large-scale systems simulations.
