Abstract

Planning and scheduling resources and capabilities in order to minimize in-process inventories in the context of a semi-automated, multi-branch assembly line can be realized through simulation methodology. A desirable refinement relates to the selection of the best combination and also in determining when further search efforts are no longer warranted. A GPSS model supported by search logic and decision rules is examined in this paper.
