Abstract

Rapid migration of micro-computers into industry, universities, and research laboratories is coupled with a need to make robust, accurate software available to those environments. The economics of such production relates to whether production investment will result in software which can be transported to other environments, and to whether the languages and software on which such software is based are acceptable. The cost of such production must relate to potential revenues. This may seem large if numbers of users is considered, but must be quite small in terms of unit price.
