Abstract

Software engineering is coming of age in one of the world's best known engineering companies. Texas Instruments has gained considerable success in their increasingly software-oriented products by applying several principles of software engineering. This paper will discuss in some detail the reasons for the interest of TI, how we use software engineering, and finally our plans for distributing this information to middle level managers. It is by such sharing of our experiences that we would hope the reader would gain an understanding of how important we consider this problem.
