Abstract

The subject of this paper is, as the title implies, the types of software requirements techniques that are expected to be developed and used in the 1980's. The paper's thesis is that advances in software requirements technology are the key to reducing software development and maintenance costs. Eight types of requirements are identified, and tools and techniques for reducing design and implementation costs for each are discussed.
