Abstract

An extended Levenberg-Marquardt method for non-linear curve-fitting in the L2 Norm is used for rational approximations in the L1 and L@@@@ norms using the Simplex Method. The coefficients of the approximation are determined by the Simplex Method so as to minimize the error in the L1 and L@@@@ norms. The iterative method used gives the desired coefficients for rational approximation problems. Finally, some numerical results are presented.
