Abstract

The development of an effective systems analyst is a long and costly process to an organization. An integrated approach to the development of systems analysts will result in improving technical quality and user acceptance of systems developed. This paper presents such an approach by outlining the relationships of standards, training and tools in an organization. The role of these components can be viewed as a triangle where each component supports and reinforces the other two components. If one of the components is missing or under-emphasized the structure is weakened, and this leads to lower quality systems. Below the three aspects are presented as Systems Development Standards, Systems Development Curriculum and a specific tool - Problem Statement Language.
