Healthcare is an important industry thattouches most, if not all of us. Healthcare is notedfor using leading edge technologies andembracing new scientific discoveries to enablebetter cures for diseases and better means toenable early detection of most life threateningdiseases. However, the healthcare industryglobally, and in the US specifically, has beenextremely slow to adopt technologies that focuson better practice management andadministrative needs [1].In today's context of escalating costs inhealthcare, managed care, regulations such as theHealthcare Information Portability andAccountability Act (HIPAA) and a technologysavvy patient, the healthcare industry can nolonger be complacent regarding embracingtechnologies to enable better, more effective andefficient practice management. We believe suchan environment is appropriate for the adoption ofm-commerce or wireless solutions.
