Abstract

The general search engine GSE provides service to theusers by dispensing the users' requests to the existingsearch engines. The existing search engines selected byGSE determine the searching quality. Because theperformance of the existing search engines and the users'requests are changed dynamically, it is not favorable forthe fixed search engines to optimize the holisticperformance of GSE. This paper applies the geneticalgorithm (GA) to realize the scheduling strategy of agentmanager; which can simulate the evolution process ofliving things more lively and more efficiently. By using GA,the combination of search engines can be optimized andhence the holistic performance of GSE can be improveddramatically.
