This paper presents an approach based on the concept of use case to support the requirements engineering process. The proposed approach assists the analyst in producing dynamic object-oriented requirements specifications. The approach is "domain expert-oriented" in the sense that the domain expert can actively participate during the requirements acquisition activity by identifying and by describing the use cases. A formal technique using Petri nets is also proposed during the requirements acquisition activity in order to make the domain expert's requirements as complete and as unambiguous as possible. During the requirements conceptualization activity, the explanation of how some parts of dynamic requirements specifications can be produced from the formalized use cases is presented.
