Abstract

A computer graphics course is presented that was introduced at the honours level at Rhodes University in 1988. In the past, a course in graphics has not been included in either the undergraduate or post-graduate curriculum. However, with the increased emphasis on the "visual" aspects of computing (full-screen editors combining text and images, windowing, graphical languages, CAD), it was thought appropriate to enhance the honours curriculum. This paper discusses the course structure, possible texts, supporting hardware and experience gained.
