Networks supporting multimedia applications allow connections to be established and released. Various network resources are required when connections are established and become available when connections are released. In order to make effective use of these re-sources and to reduce end-to-end delays, run-time con-figuration management is essentially required in such an environment. In this paper, we discuss run-time configuration problems and provide high-level solutions for them. We then propose a framework for run-time configuration management and present the design of run-time configuration manager.
