Abstract

In a distributed processing environment, good management tools make the environment very reliable. We developed a prototype of distributed systems management software, which is called HANURI/M. HANURI/M provides the configuration, fault and performance management services in the distributed environment. The performance management is one of the important distributed management functions. The manager monitors the network traffics and the utilization of system resources for the performance management. It can also set the factors such as polling interval time and threshold values before the monitoring. The manager analyzes the results and controls the environment. Some results in this paper show the values and give some hints for performance management. This performance management services help us improving the availability in the distributed environment.
