Model reuse is one of the main reasons for developing a model library. In particular, during the process of establishing a model library, two aspects have to be considered: model generation and database operations, therefore, the stored model components should have an effective representation method to cope with the above requirements. We propose a representation methodology including feature design and required query approaches for model components for the functions of both model generation and model storage. In our proposed model library system, an object-oriented database is working as the main model repository, and a wrapper front-end is designed to wrap and unwrap the model components and for transforming messages to the stored objects. We also explore the developed model representation heuristic potential in model generation through the functions provided by the object-oriented database and qualitative query approaches.
