Abstract

This workshop addresses the critical success factors facing practitioners engaged in component-based enterprise software development (CBESD). Component-based software development is based on the concept of developing software systems by selecting previously developed or purchased reusable software components and assembling them within appropriate software architectures. Workshop participants will describe their experiences (successful or otherwise) in establishing CBESD programs, and will work together to captures the leanings in the form of "CBESD adoption patterns," detailing process, organizational, management and technical guidelines for success.
