Abstract

WEAVE (Workbench Environment for Analysis and Visual Exploration)is an environment for creating interactive visualization applications.WEAVE differs from previous systems in that it providestransparent linking between custom 3-D visualizations andmultidimensional statistical representations, and provides interactivecolor brushing betwen all visualizations.In this paper, we demonstrate how WEAVE can be used torapidly prototype a biomedical application, weaving together simulationdata, measurement data, and 3-d anatomical data concerningthe propagation of excitation in the heart. These linked statisticaland custom three-dimensional visualizations of the heart can allowscientists to more effectively study the correspondance of structureand behavior.
