Abstract

Mosaicing and super resolution are two ways to combineinformation from multiple frames in video sequences. Mosaicingdisplays the information of multiple frames in a singlepanoramic image. Super-resolution uses regions whichappear in multiple frames to improve resolution and reducenoise. Simple combination of the two methods is problematicsince the alignment used for mosaicing may not be accurateenough over the entire region for super resolution. In this paper we introduce a 2-step process: First we createa panoramic mosaic from the images. We then align smallimage regions to the panorama, and apply super resolutionresulting in a panoramic image with higher resolution.
