The Counters-Based Modified (CBM) traffic conditionerwas presented in a previous work as a feasible election forthe Assured Service implementation with DiffServ. In thiswork, we evaluate the end-to-end performance of TCP Renosources with the CBM traffic conditioner in topologies withone and three network nodes under miscellaneouscharacteristics, i. e. variable contracted target rates andround trip times. In addition and for the same scenarios, the robustness of the couple CBM-RIO is tested whenAssured Service and best-effort sources coexist andcompete for network resources. Strong assurance ofachieving target bandwidths and even allocation of sparebandwidth across different flows can be provided as shownin simulation results.
