Abstract

The classical definition of knowledge managementpromises to get the right knowledge to the right people atthe right time so they can make the best decision [1].Autonomic systems, on the other hand, are expected tofind and apply the right knowledge for self-managingpurposes without human intervention. This articlediscusses the components to be built around a system toenable self-healing and managing capabilities. Theseare defined and described in this article as self-knowledge,self-monitoring, self-learning, problemdetection, diagnosis, search and solution applicationcomponents. Interaction of these system components tomake knowledge available for self-healing purposes willalso be discussed.
