Abstract

AQM attempts to provide high network utilization withlow loss and delay by regulating queues at bottleneck links. While many AQM algorithms have been proposed, most sufferfrom instability, require careful configuration of non-intuitivecontrol parameters, or are not practical becauseof slow response to dynamic traffic changes. In this paper,we propose a new AQM algorithm that combines themore effective elements of recent algorithms with a REDcore. Throughout analysis and simulations, we demonstrateimproved performance in stability and response timewith straightforward selection of parameters for both steadyload and changes in loads.
