Wireless communications systems are by nature and byregulations limited in bandwidth and hence capacity. Serviceswith high demands on Quality of Service (QoS) willenforce high demands on the available capacity. This observationmotivates the development of schedulers that can deliverthe required QoS as well as being resource efficient. Inthis paper, we provide expressions of the worst case deliverytime for schedulers based on the First In First Out (FIFO)and the Earliest Due-Date (EDD) principles which are appliedto the HiperAccess point-to-multipoint radio communicationsystem. Further, we propose modifications of theschedulers which are more resource efficient at the expensemodified scheduling algorithms can still provide an averageof rare deadline misses. Despite the deadline misses, thedelivery time well within the required deadline.
