An ad hoc network is a collection of mobile nodes connectedthrough multi-hop wireless links without the requiredintervention of any centralized access point or existing infrastructure. In this work, we have developed an analyticalframework for computing the reliabilities of multi-hoppaths. We have also investigated the effect of multi-pathcharacteristics on path reliabilities. Among the main parametersconsidered here are, average link clustering, numberof multiple paths, path complexity factor, and hop differencefactor. Our approach is unified and general in thesense that it is able to incorporate single as well as multiplepaths between a given source and destination pair.
