This paper describes a software specificationmethod based on high-level Petri net patternsknown as HPrTN patterns. HPrTN patterns relyon a pattern catalog, and a formal basis forspecializing, instantiating, and composingexisting patterns. We show the usefulness of ourapproach via modeling of a Blackboard system.
