Differentiated Services architecture has beenproposed by IETF to implement QoS in IP networks. However, research shows that there exists great unfairness in Diff-servnetwork, especially between responsive and un-responsiveaggregate. This paper argues that responsive andun-responsive flows should be treated differently only to theirout-of-profile traffic, in addition, traffic responsivenessshould be identified by its behavior rather than simply byprotocol. Then this paper defines the TCP Friendly fairness inDiff-serv network by introducing the idea of TCP Friendlyinto Diff-serv network to guarantee the fairness betweenresponsive and unresponsive aggregate. Moreover, Two markers, srTCM and trTCM, witheight mapping schemes, are examined by elaboratesimulations, however, none could achieve the TCP Friendlyfairness. Therefore, this paper propose the Direct CongestionControl Scheme(DCCS) to achieve fairness betweenresponsive and unresponsive aggregate.
