In this paper, we present an application layer quality ofservice (QoS) control protocol (QCP), which employs anadditive-increase bandwidth feedback algorithm. Theprotocol enhances the communication between end nodesand "the network" by a QoS packet sent from the sourcefor per n video frames. The destination calculates thedelay jitter, throughput for per QoS interval, and sends abackward QoS packet to the source. Upon the receipt of aQoS packet, the source use the delay and the bandwidthcontained in the QoS packet to adjusts its sending rate. The protocol is ell suited for real-time rate-adaptivevideo streams. The primary goal is to be easy toimplement and provide an efficient application layer QoScontrol. Through extensive simulations, we conclude thatthe protocol could be able to control the jitter, delay andloss very efficiently.
