A group including a larger number of processes implieslarger computation and communication overheads to manipulateand transmit messages. In this paper, we discussa group which is composed of subgroups of processes toreduce the overheads. Each subgroup has a gateway processwhich communicates with the other gateway processes. We propose a protocol to causally deliver messages to processesin a group by using a vector of message sequencenumbers whose size is the number of subgroups, smallerthan number of processes. We evaluate the protocol.
