Abstract

This paper presents a reliability estimator based oncurrent Markov chain usage model testing methodology.This reliability estimator is specifically formulated totake advantage of software testing performed usingMarkov chain models of the use of the software undertest. The reliability estimator presented in this paper isuseful in the absence of observed failures, behaves in apredictable manner, can make use of pretest reliabilityinformation, and has an associated variance.
