Abstract

TANGO is an algorithm animation system designed to provide programmers with the capabilities to produce sophisticated, real-time animations of their programs with a minimum of graphics coding. The system is implemented using the conceptual framework for algorithm animation developed as part of the author''s Ph.D. research. The framework contains facilities for defining events to their corresponding animations. Animation design is based upon a ``path-transition'''' paradigm utilizing four animation data types: locations, images, paths, and transitions.
