Abstract

A method of decomposition applied to orthogonal polyhedra is presented in this paper. A solid model created using a boundary representation method is converted into an extreme vertices model. In the next steps this is decomposed into a number of parallelepiped blocks. The method generates six independent and various decomposed models. The decomposition is a part of a multi-stage process for the preparation of partitioning for parallel analyses based on geometric elements.
