The computational infrastructure for information technology that is now being built is composed of a huge number of highly heterogeneous and mobile devices connected by different network technologies where a great number of resources and services will be available. This infrastructure imposes to the software architecture some complex requirements where adaptation is a key point. This work aims at addressing the problem of how to adapt computing systems at runtime by presenting a generic model for dynamic adaptation.
