Abstract

The European Union funded DRiVE project (DynamicRadio for IP Services in Vehicular Environments) aims atenabling spectrum-efficient high-quality wireless IPcommunication in a heterogeneous multi-radioenvironment to deliver in-vehicle multimedia services. The IPv6 based network architecture for IP over multi-radio access networks and traffic control aspects withinthe emerging "DRiVE" network plays a key role withinthe project (also cf. [19 ]).This paper gives an update ofrelevant changes of the DRiVE concepts compared to[19 ].It focuses on the system functions and networkelements of the DRiVE IPv6 infrastructure and alsoconsiders the provision of Quality of Service.
