With the increasing growth in mobilecomputing devices and wireless networks,users are able to access information fromanywhere and at anytime.In such situations,the issues of location management for mobilehosts are becoming increasingly significant.Different location management schemes suchas Columbia University's mobile IP schemeand IETF mobile IP have been proposed.Inthis paper, we propose a distributed locationmanagement scheme and discuss theadvantages of the proposed scheme over theothers.It seems that the proposed scheme iseasy to implement and achieves optimalrouting.The paper then considers the issues ofmulticasting in the proposed scheme.Finally,the paper describes security protocols forauthentication and data privacy for theproposed architecture.
