Abstract

We present a Bluetooth LAN Access Point (LAP)simulator that we have developed to study pervasiveapplication behavior under Bluetooth localconnectivity. Our goal is to explore the impact on IPapplications caused by the underlying Bluetoothprotocol. Our simulator implements detailedprocessing of upper layers of Bluetooth LAP stack, including PPP, RFCOMM, and L2CAP.For lowerlayers, it tries to capture major characteristics byperforming macro-simulation.We present simulationresults of a simple network configuration in BluetoothLAP environments. Our simulator is based on thepopular Network Simulator (ns) and its components.
