Abstract

Testing is still the primary means for ensuringsoftware quality. In spite of ore than 20years of research in testing, most of testingtechniques still focus on odule testing andwhite-box testing. However, in practice, integration testing and functional testing havebeen found to be most useful and effective. Torespond to this need, DoD recently initiates aproject on End-to-End (E2E) integrationtesting. This approach takes the functionalapproach to integration testing even thoughdesign and architecture infor ation can bealso incorporated into the test specification. This approach also allows risk analysis, testcase/script generation, regression testing, ripple effect analysis, statistical analysis, andremote project management and collaborationvia XML.
