Abstract

Reliability is one of the most important aspects of software systems of any kind.Software development is a complex and complicated process in whi h software faults areinserted into the code by mistakes during the developmentprocess or maintenance. It has been shown that the pattern of the faults insertion phenomena is related to measurable attributes of the software. In the paper we will introduce some methods for reliability prediction based on software metrics, present the results of using these methods inthe particular industrial software environment for which wehave a large database of modules in C language.Finallywe will compare the results and methods and give some directions and ideas for future work.
