A probabilistic scheduling model for software projectsis presented. The model explicitly takes a schedulingstrategy as input. When the scheduling strategy is fixed, the model outputs a probability distribution for the project completion time or cost.By applyingstochastic optimization techniques, schedules for software projects can be computed which minimize the development time or cost with a given staff.
