Abstract

For adaptive resource allocation to maintain its crucialtiming requirements in large-scale networks, fast analysisand synthesis algorithms are required in order to processfreshly collected traffic data. In this paper, we build on previouswork to introduce a general measurement-based self-sizingframework for resource allocation in label-switchednetworks. Furthermore, we study the scaling behavior ofthe simulated annealing variant used in the analysis andsynthesis algorithm. We propose a hierarchical approach toimprove adaptation performance for large networks and includeextensive simulation results indicating significant improvementin performance as networks get larger.
