Abstract

ISAM is a proposal directed to resource managementin heterogeneous networks, supporting physical and logicalmobility, dynamic adaptation and the execution of distributedapplications based on components. In order toachieve its goals, ISAM uses, as strategy, an integrated environmentthat: (a) provides a programming paradigm andits execution environment; (b) handles the adaptation processthrough a multilevel collaborative model, in which boththe system and the application contribute. In this paper wediscuss the main mechanisms used to implement the ISAMfeatures, and we also present a parallel application that exploressome of this features.
