Abstract

Modelling and state estimation of the maneuvering targets are examined in this paper. We present a new method for embedding fuzzy logic into a traditional α-β tracking algorithm. The estimation procedure of both the α-β tracker and the fuzzy tracker are introduced. The developed algorithm possesses the fast and accurate tracking ability of maneuvering targets. An important contribution of this paper is that the proposed fuzzy tracker does not require deterministic initial conditions assumptions of the process and measurements. Computer simulations illustrate that the fuzzy tracker is simple, effective, and suitable for real-time applications and it indeed improve tracking ability for maneuvering target in comparison with traditional α-β tracker.
