We give a short overview of the Java bytecodeto-SUIF compiler that is c urrently being developed at UCSB. The goal of the compiler is to support the com plete Java language speci,cation, based on SUIF 2.0 and OSUIF. We expect to have a version of the compiler that is ready for release to the public at about the end of ''97.
