Abstract

Elaborating on the merits inherent in the self-certified public key systems, the authors propose a (t,n) threshold signature scheme using self-certified public keys. In the proposed scheme, the authentication of the self-certified individual/group public keys can be confirmed simultaneously in the procedure of verifying the individual/group signatures. As compared with threshold signature schemes designed based on the certificate-based public key systems, the proposed scheme is more efficient for generating and verifying group signatures in terms of computational efforts and communication costs.
