Abstract

The need for tools and meeting methods to provideeffective support during data model developmentmeetings has been an elusive goal. Researchers at theUniversity of Arizona have developed collaborative toolsand methods to support groups during these meetings. This paper discusses meeting methods to support suchmeetings. A process is described that orchestrates thework in a way that gives non-analyst participants anordered set of tasks that they can complete. Use of thisapproach with a group data modeling tool provides ameans for larger groups to effectively participate duringdata model development and review. Users can see andcontribute model content in parallel. The approachmanages complexity supports comprehension, and fosters agreement among participants.
