Abstract

Remote sensing satellites are generating largeamounts of (image) data at different levels oftemporal, spatial and spectral resolution, with varyinglevels of detail, and at various stages of processingwith a variety of algorithms. This bewildering arrayof data sources is going to mandate a new class ofinformation retrieval systems to help end-users accessthe networked information resources effectively. Inthis paper, we propose intelligent agent basedmechanisms to locate the appropriate sources ofsatellite data, processing algorithms, and ancillarydata that may be required at various levels ofprocessing to answer different types of temporal andspatial queries.
