Despite the variety of potential benefits to society, organizations, and individuals, telework growth has beenmoderate. We posit that the materialization of teleworkpotential is viable when management recognizes itsinnovative value and accordingly changes theimplementation paradigm from selection to adaptationand from ad hoc based temporary solution of anindividual problem to the strategic tool that can improveorganizational effectiveness. Based on the changedparadigm, we suggest a conceptual model of intra-organizational adoption/diffusion of telework thatdescribes a causal relationship among important agentsand organizational variables.
