Abstract

Scheduling concerns the allocation of limited resources totasks over time and is pervasive and important in themanagement of industrial and government organizations. For the last two decades, interactive scheduling systemshave become one of the most effective and efficient toolsfor real life scheduling applications. Due to the advent ofinformation technology and client/server technology, design and development of scheduling systems withinteractive support on the Internet will be one of theinnovative approaches to tackle sophisticated schedulingproblems. In this paper, we describe the structure of aprototype scheduling system. Then we propose a newapproach to design and development of an interactivescheduling system on for the Internet users. We alsopresent an architecture of intelligent agent to supportinteractive and cooperative scheduling systems on theInternet. The conclusion is discussed in the last section.
